Capital uses high-impact practices like internships, immersion courses, pre-professional activities, and capstone projects proven to optimize student learning. Previous projects include the Zombie Apocalypse and Alien Invasion events which allowed students across a range of majors, including public relations, to get realistic experience dealing with a crisis situation. The event-planning course has a history of putting on a formal dance for adults with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the Public Relations client-based immersion class most recently partnered with award-winning integrated communications firm Fahlgren Mortine to take on the challenges of several worthy nonprofit organizations.
